Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our warehouse or production facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to safety, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Safely operate a forklift to move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, trucks, or storage facilities.
  2. Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles using forklifts or pallet jacks.
  3. Stack and store materials in designated areas according to predetermined storage plans.
  4. Perform routine maintenance checks on forklift equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  5. Ensure that all materials are handled and stored safely to prevent damage or injury.
  6. Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  7. Assist with inventory management by conducting stock counts and maintaining accurate records of materials handled.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.
  9. Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding workplace safety, quality control, and operational procedures.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping forklifts and work areas free of debris.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Proven experience as a forklift operator or similar role in a warehouse or production setting.
  2. Valid forklift certification or license from a recognized training program.
  3. Strong understanding of forklift operation techniques and safety protocols.
  4. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness to maneuver large and heavy loads safely.
  5. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly throughout the day.
  7. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials to prevent damage or loss.
  8. Effective communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
  9. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  10. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and complying with all safety regulations.
